The Fifth International Conference on
UNITY AND PLURALITY IN EUROPE
The 1st to the 3rd of August, 2010
Mostar, Hotel Bristol
International Forum Bosnia, in cooperation with and with support from a number of other organisations from Bosnia and abroad, will be hosting the Fifth International Conference on Unity and Plurality in Europe. The conference will be held in Mostar, from the 1st to the 3rd of August, 2010.
The programme for the international conference will be conducted according to three thematic areas: 1) Religion, Identity and Society, 2) The Role of the University in the New Europe, and 3) The Conditions of Coexistence.
The goal of the conference is to stimulate changes in understanding, attitudes and behaviour, as well as in the interpretation and application of modern and traditional views which relate to culture, civil society, and public life. The conference as a whole is intended to serve the long-term purpose of building and developing international networks and promoting the exchange of knowledge. The organisers believe that it will contribute to the interpretation of culture and politics as active factors of peace, while helping to oppose abuses on the part of ethno-nationalist, ethno-religious and other ideologically oriented elites. The programme will involve researchers from around the world and participants working to build confidence and understanding between various collective identities in contemporary society.
All conference and associated activities will be conducted in English.
More details about the conference may be found at http://www.ifbosna.org.ba/
